He holds American Board of Medical Specialties board certification in Addiction Medicine. Before entering private practice in 2007, Dr. Siegel held appointments at two medical schools, where his research involved the effects of opioids on the body’s hormonal systems.
Dr. Siegel offers discreet, private, and one-on-one treatment via video and phone. He offers concierge style treatment with long appointments and flexible hours that include weekends and evenings. His treatment philosophy is one of flexibility and choice. Dr. Siegel’s approach is that there are different ways to attain recovery and to maintain abstinence. He focuses on doing “what works”, and on customizing treatment to each individual patient’s unique needs and circumstances.
HELP FOR WITHDRAWING FROM DRUG ADDICTIONS
Dr. Siegel offers medication assisted treatment and outpatient detoxification for people with drug and alcohol addictions. Medical detoxification is medically supervised withdrawal. In medical detox, a drug that is the same or similar to the one being abused is started at a high dose, then gradually tapered down to zero. Have you ever wondered, “What can help for withdrawing from drug addictions?”
Dr. Siegel is an expert in the outpatient medical detoxification of alcohol, opioids (e.g. Oxycontin, oxycodone, Percocet, Vicodin, and Lortab), opiates (e.g. Heroin and Morphine), as well as benzodiazepines (“benzos”) such as Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, and Valium. Dr. Siegel is particularly skilled with benzodiazepine medical detox. While there is no medical detox for cocaine and methamphetamine addictions, Dr. Siegel treats these addictions as well using the most current methods of addiction psychotherapy.
ADDICTION PSYCHOTHERAPY
Dr. Siegel also treats the psychological part of addiction. He does not only prescribe medications. Dr. Siegel provides motivational interviewing and addiction psychotherapy using the most current methods of treatment. He provides psychological treatment that is collaborative and non-confrontational. Dr. Siegel guides patients to find their own internal motivation for change and resolve ambivalence about drug and alcohol use. He also teaches ways to cope with cravings, as well as correct maladaptive thought processes and behaviors that lead to drug and alcohol use.
